"You might have noticed that there is a new...band of misfits that have gathered together to save the world," Talia said taking the goblet into her hands, swirling the contents about, "While noble in their effort, my father and I both feel that they are more likely to become...a nuisance, lest they are watched carefully and tempered."
She lifted the glass to her lips, pretending to take a drink but didn't take in any of the contents, "They might not seem as a threat now, but heroics often put unworthy people into positions of power. The last thing you or I need is their interference on meddlesome idiots who think they are being heroes and only getting in the way of carefully laid plans." She swirled the contents once more for good measure.
"You scratch my back, I scratch yours. I believe that is the phrasing that is appropriate," Talia smiled, "We help you to make sure that they do not interfere and you help us. Granted this would be a greater favor to us—" oh the things she said for an alliance "—than to you, but we work with a certain level of subtlety that would be of assistance to you, I'm sure."
She kept the smile on her face, "In fact, we were hoping to create...more than just an alliance with you. People with ambitions like our own may seem like we are incapable of working together and while these Avengers are rather laughable, their idea of uniting powerful forces is not such tom foolery as one might think. Only we wish to align individuals with both strength and intelligence."
