Greer had long gotten past the point of nervousness when it came to revealing her new look to past friends. Those she was closest to had come to accept the stripes and fur and anyone who had yet to be graced by her presence would just have to do the same. She did, however, know when tact came into play. The usual lack of clothing would not do for a Thanksgiving dinner (even if it was hosted by her cousin, Ted) and so she approached the familiar brownstone in a simple blouse and a pair of wide-bottomed slacks. Despite the chill of the day, a coat was forgotten. The amount of fur that accumulated on wool was ungodly.
The doorbell rang and before any of the other guests could spring on it, Ted was there and when he flung open the door, laughter erupted. "Hey there, kitty cat."
"Very original, Ted," Greer purred and drew him in for a hug. Ted was really the only family she had left these days. The only one who could accept who she was now, at least. "Happy Thanksgiving. Can I come in or are you looking forward to the block staring?"
Ted folded his arms over his chest as if blocking the entrance and then slowly stepped back to allow her entrance. "Get in here already. I'm not paying to heat the outside."
With a shake of her head, Greer stepped into the home and closed the door behind her. Ted escorted her to where the others had gathered, but positioned himself so that his massive form kept her blocked. "Greer's here!" he shouted and then stepped aside. The revealed feline woman smiled, revealing a full set of sharpened teeth. "Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. What have I missed?"
