In truth Danny did not really know what to expect of the demonstration. On the one hand, he knew very intimately how good of a fighter Dinah was from all of the first hand experience he had had in sparring with her the past four odd months. And on the other, the girl was only five. At her age most kids still needed help tying their own shoe laces-never mind having the coordination and discipline for martial arts.
Which was to say nothing of how Dinah had herself professed many a time that she was not herself a teacher.
...Though his feelings on that end changed within the first ten seconds of watching Lian move. She had balance. She had coordination. And she remembered how to shift through several different styles without missing a beat, even if they were at a basic level. In response to her eventual bow, Danny raised his hands to his chest, and used his left hand to cover the knuckles of his right fist, which was the salutation of Kung Fu.
When she asked him to put his hand on her head, he complied. How could he resist? And when she actually demonstrated the skill necessary to throw him, he had to go along with that as well. Even if there happened to be a myriad of ways he could have escaped from the maneuver. Over her he went, with a controlled landing that saw him looking up at Dinah and Roy.
On the other side of the school, the students stared as one with mouths agape and eyes wide. At least until Danny noticed them, at which point they immediately went back to their drills.
"That.. " Danny laughed as he sat up, shaking his head and resting on his knees again. "That was incredible. We'll have to work on the dinosaur bit, but I think you've got the princess and especially the ninja down pretty well so far."
