James didn't know Bruce very well, but he knew enough. Billionaire playboy, with more substance than people gave him credit for- it was a recurring theme in Rhodes life, apparently. But more than anything, he knew how much respect and admiration for the man Tony had (though he'd never come out and say it). So when the man asked for a favor, Rhodey said yes. The fact that he was almost certain the favor involved taking a woman out on the town, only added to the intrigue.
As his cab pulled up, Rhodey handed the driver a 20 and stepped out onto the sidewalk. The Wayne Foundation building towered overhead, and a steady stream of people were leaving the building.
He wore his his sky blue Air Force uniform- foregoing the cap. Am impressive patch of medals hanging on the left breast of his jacket. He started walking toward the building, his pilots' eyes scanning the crowd keenly.
A flash of yellow caught his gaze, and he stopped, turning his head. A gap in the flow of people emerged, and he was greeted to the sight of a stunning blonde.
He headed over to her slowly, a friendly smile on his face. "You wouldn't be a friend of Bruce Wayne's, would you?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. He held out a hand. "I'm James. James Rhodes. And I think we're on a blind date" he said, with a wry smile.
