"Arthur Curry, King T'Challa of Wakanda. T'Challa, his majesty Arthur Curry of Atlantis, King of the Seven Seas." Reed rattled off titles to introduce the two and he was about to add interesting details about how he knew either of them so they they could have something to talk about. It was the politest formula for introductions, formal or casual-- but it was around this time when Victor walked in and made his way to the other end of the table without a word to either of the other guests. ...Speaking of rude.
Note to self: he'd have a round table brought in next time.
Reed, at least, inclined his head towards Doom to acknowledge his presence.
"T'Challa, I believe you've met Victor von Doom. Arthur Curry, King of the Seven Seas; Victor von Doom, King of Latveria." Reed supplied, holding out an open hand towards Doom by way of introducing him to Arthur.
Reed glanced at his watch and frowned slightly, but gestured to the table. "Shall we begin? I'm certain our last member will be along presently."
No sooner had he said that than Tony Stark arrived, fashionably late as usual, and Reed couldn't help but smile as he took a moment to shake his friend's hand, then turned to the rest o the assemblage. "Gentlemen, Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man. Tony, T'Challa, King of Wakanda, Arthur Curry of Atlantis, King of the Seven Seas, and I believe you've met Victor von Doom, King of Latveria."
Now, with everyone finally introduced with full and proper titles and Tony here, they could begin.
"Thank you all for coming." Reed began with a vague speech he'd written some weeks ago and had taken pains to memorize for just this occasion. "It is a great honor to be here with you-- all of you--" He said, his eyes resting on Doom for a moment, "with this great and shared goal before us. Every person here has been selected and invited because of the special gifts and talents they can bring to this endeavor. Tony is an inventor, a talented engineer and entrepreneur. From him, we will learn responsibility and perseverance." He said, nodding at Tony who he was sure would try to argue the responsibility point-- but Reed had known him far too long to be deceived. "Doom is a genius scientist, a master of mystical arts and a born leader. From him, we will learn to be steadfast, and unyielding." Reed had actually gone to the thesaurus for that one, to look up the positive way to say "stubborn and unreasonable" T'Challa shares a long lineage with courageous warriors, noble kings, and is something of a technophile himself." He said with a friendly smile and a nod to his old friend, "From him, we will learn courage and nobility. And Arthur..." Reed continued, turning to the Atlantean with a smile on his face, "Arthur speaks to fish." He said, by way of a very slight joke that he only made because he'd heard Arthur make it before (or at least he thought he had? He hoped), "and, lest we forget, nearly two-thirds of our planet is his domain. From Arthur, we will learn open-mindedness, and compassion for the others who share this planet, humanoid or not."
"As for me..." Reed set his hands down on the table and took a breath before he continued, "I'm the smartest man in the world. I know that there will be times when our differences will seem insurmountable, and that there will be days when we would much rather declare war on one another than have to be in the same room. Even the closest people cannot agree- and even dearest friends will argue and fight..." He paused, vaguely debating whether he should continue or not and finally decided to do so, "But from me, we will learn to be something stronger than a conglomerate of Kings and Inventors, invulnerable to the hatred differences can cause, better. A family."
