"Serves you right, Mister Rand." She teased right back, grinning away.
"She wouldn't be staying, just coming for class." She clarified after a moment, thinking it better to tell Danny upfront if a kid was going to be needing dinner and/or a bed. Thankfully, Lian would just be coming for classes. "Her name is Lian. She's five. She might be too young still, but I thought I'd ask." Dinah supplied in answer to his question, the fond smile that crossed her face betraying how close she was to the little girl. She started to say that she was her son's kid-- or she could have even have said that Lian was her granddaughter but Dinah was not ready to start calling herself a grandmother (ever. She did not ever want to be called a grandmother), and neither were actually true. She considered Roy her son, but in any legal sense of the word, that wasn't accurate. She could have said that she and Roy were close, but that sounded too much like 'dating' and that weirded her out more than a little. Finally, she settled on something that was the closest thing to the whole truth without being overly complicated. "I helped raise her dad." Dinah explained.
While Danny stretched out, Dinah pulled her hair up into a ponytail then started to stretch as well. Stretching was very important if you planned to physically exert yourself. It was especially important if you planned to try to beat the living tar out of someone who had crazy dragon mojo working for him.
And she wasn't going to tell him that she'd already called for pizza and had beer waiting. He could be surprised later.
