When she apologized about being late, Danny gave her a sort of mock indignant look. He liked having her here with the kids and sparring with her was a blast-it was often difficult to find a worthy opponenent who could keep up with him-but it was not as though she had any real committment. But he gave her a face for it none the less.
"It's alright, I get it. I cancel on you last week, and you show up late today. I see how you operate, Miss Lance."
He nodded at the comment concerning the students. It was his way of helping to keep them off of the streets, and in many cases, giving them a purpose. As well as discipline. He did not care to think about how many of them he had found out in the worst parts of the city after dark. And now that it was getting colder he was doing all he could to round up even more.
"There is always room for once more", he said as he stretched his arms behind his head, pulling on his elbow. One after the other. "Who is it?"
