Doug smiled, lips tight, trying to keep the color out of his cheeks at her welcome. He marched over and sat across from her on the table, then forced himself to wave at the girl behind the counter, who recognized him as a regular. Under his arm was his laptop, a hand-me-down that he was able to afford on his meager budget. While he was pretty sure Oracle was determined to keep his online meddling to a minimum, Cypher could do a lot even with outdated tech. It wasn't about the weapon, it was the wielder that mattered.
"Hey," he said, trying to act like meeting an attractive older girl at a coffee shop was no big thing. For one, he was taken, and while this wasn't cheating, it didn't help that the last two times they'd met it had been under somewhat extreme circumstances.
This was normal. But it was also not normal for him. Doug didn't meet girls in coffee shops. Except Stephanie, but she was a friend. And Batgirl? Well, if this girl could wear her billowing cape, maybe there was hope yet.
"So, okay, I'm not really sure what you wanted. You've never used a computer before, or..?" He intended to do small talk, but his own nerves made him jump right to the business at hand. He closed his eyes. "Sorry, sorry. Okay, breathing. Let's try normal."
Opening them, and breathing deeply and calmly, he tried again. "How have you been, Raven?"
