For a moment, Damian was concerned as to just what Bart had in mind but before he could even begin to speculate the teen was back. Damian obligingly handed over the other worker and started running for the exit himself.
He didn't have anything against mutants or those (fortunate or unfortunate) enough to have extra abilities but he did hold a healthy bit of skepticism towards them. His father tended to believe power corrupts and his mother had seem them mostly as tools. It was nice (and a bit surprisingly) to see that with the right amount of focus, superpowers did have their advantages.
Damian tugged his shirt up over his face. The gas was thick in the air and stung at his eyes. He wasn't worried so much about suffocation as the dearth of the damage if the gas were to ignite. He and Bart would be incinerated but it was also possible that the entire block could go up.
He wondered if the cops topside had enough prudence to take the obvious precautions.
