Damian had barely registered both the light and noise by the time Bart had already started talking. Damian kept himself from jumping but he couldn't say he was all that comfortable with the idea that Bart could suddenly just be there. Still, he grit his teeth and pushed past the annoyance,m reminding himself that in the current situation it was an asset.
Bart had done what he'd been told, pretty effectively too. Damian hadn't been expected that. He gave a curt nod in acknowledgement. "Double back and check the bend I didn't take."
Damian was pretty sure that the direction he was going was the right one, call it a gut feeling, but it couldn't hurt to cover all their bases.
