"I'm not afraid." Bart shot back, peering down the dark hallway, "I told you, if I run in the dark I could run right into a wall-- do you know much running into concrete at the speed of sound would hurt? Cripes." He chided with an exasperated roll of his eyes.
The kid had a point though... there were people in here somewhere, and more could get hurt at any time. And they had to do something about it.
Bart scowled at the darkness for a moment, then snapped his fingers as an idea hit him, "Ha!" He exclaimed, plucking his cell phone from his pocket and using the flashlight app to illuminate a few feet ahead of him, sending rats scurried away. It wasn't much, but it would keep him from flattening himself into a Bart pancake against an unsuspecting wall.
"I'll check down here. Be right back!" He shouted before taking off into the darkness, lit by an iPhone. Thankfully, even light moved fasted than Bart, and he was able to move just a little bit slower to give him enough time to stop vibrate through anything that might pop up in his path.
