"Yeah! Canaries!" Bart chimed, following along behind/beside Damian.
Bart didn't bother to touch the walls, but he did frown down at his feet and covered his face as he looked up towards the top of the roof of the tunnel. "It's dark." He commented, his jovial expression sobering, like a drunk hit with cold water. "I can't run if I can't see." The last thing he needed was to run into a concrete wall at the speed of sound; all that would be left of him would be a grease spot on the side of the wall. They couldn't strike any matches either-- not that Bart had any-- because of the gas leak... This wasn't so much fun anymore.
"Do you see any light up ahead?" He asked, pausing in front of the tunnel split and not yet venturing down the tunnel he'd been assigned. He wasn't scared okay, he just wanted to see if the kid had any bright ideas about how they'd be able to see. Because... yeah. He didn't feel like smashing his own brains out in the tunnel system today, thanks.
