There was just a hint of movement in the darkening shadows, and his eyes flicked up just in time to catch someone jumping rooftops. Apparently that wasn't uncommon in Gotham; his senses were good, but he couldn't read minds or emotions. He had to assume that no ill will was meant...or at least, that he could sense a charging attack and could extend his claws before he was pounced on.
Besides, Laura was here and that was far more important. "We" meant her and the dog he'd named in honor of a mascot from one of his wars. But it had stuck and he was pleased, and no more so that apparently all was well. "Good. School's good," he continued. "Higher ground. We're all here being useful."
