It definitely wasn't an apology - Pete hadn't been able consider the situation for long enough for that. He'd only managed to bump into the unknown woman and blink before she was giving him that look. It hadn't been a purposeful bumping, especially not or a woman he'd never met and was not quite trying to hit on at the moment.
At least it hadn't made a mess of her dress. That was something. "Yeah, whoops." Still not quite apologetic, though he'd offer her the napkin - only a little damp - that went with his glass from the bar to wipe off the excess alcohol from her fingertips where he'd jostled her. "Terrible name, isn't it? Comes from the circumstances of my birth." Going along with her snide comments without a blink or even a look back. Pete was, as always, being Pete.
