The apartment was small and lacking the opulence of Wayne Manor but somehow, it felt closer to what Barda was accustomed to, at least in terms of size. She had never felt quite at home in the grand hallways and posh decor at the Manor, largely because it was so different than the industrial landscapes and architecture from where she was from. Even the broad windows and cheerful colors that they - or Scott rather - had chosen for the two bedroom place were bright enough to take her by surprise. But she found that she liked them, more often than not. She couldn't have said why she'd agreed to follow Scott Free further into Earth's society but she didn't know anyone else, not like him. And he was the closest thing to anything she understood on her more frustrated days or when she was adjusting. They were, oddly enough, very good friends despite the entire 'sent to Earth to return him to Apokolips for unspeakable torment and punishments for escaping.' Maybe because of it. So she'd followed he and Oberon when they left The Batman's home and came here to settle in. Speaking of which, where had he gone? "Scott?" Barda craned her neck to see if he were still in the kitchen stacking some of the boxes he'd brought with him from there. She didn't know exactly where he had acquired some of his furnishings - but a lot of their belongings had been bought in the wake of his show's success. "Where do you want the couch?" Because she was currently standing in the middle of the living room with the piece of furniture hefted over her head. |
