"Thank you." He said automatically, though the smile that crept to his face betrayed how he really felt about becoming a father. Nervous, sure, terrified, absolutely-- and thrilled.
"Would it still be 'wet' per se if everything is underwater? Doesn't the supposition of something being 'wet' automatically assume that there is such a thing as 'dry'? And if all of Atlantis is under water and is, according to you, 'wet'-- can it really be 'wet' since it has never known dry? Oh I suppose that's untrue... Atlantis was above water circa 1600 B.C., correct? So that would mean that there was a 'dry', though there isn't any longer..." Reed mused, turning on a large industrial fan to help with the remaining smoke.
His amused look quickly turned into a scowl, which was quickly transformed into something altogether less hostile looking, "Officially, the Fantastic Four support the Office of the President of the United States and look forward to working with the President towards a better future for America." Reed recited; clearly a line that he'd been using on the press for the past twelve years (three elections). He gave Arthur a knowing look though, and paused, his scowl returning. Arthur was his friend and thus would know that, while the FF had a strict policy of neutrality towards political endorsements, that didn't mean they didn't have private opinions.
"Admittedly, I don't know much about Mr. Luthor personally; what I do know though is that he was somehow able to steal one of my designs which he has taken the liberty of producing for the city of Metropolis under his own name. I know that when Ben, Johnny and I confronted him on the matter, he seemed far too busy and important to tolerate our complaints and that he seemed confident that, if we brought the matter before a judge, the law would come down on his side. From that, I can extrapolate that he'll only continue in this pattern as President; which I, for one, am dreading."
