Even in the daylight, he'd been busy. Bruce Wayne had been working throughout the day at the Wayne Foundation to set up shelters for the displaced; to make sure clinics and hospitals throughout the city had all the resources they needed; that his money was doing whatever possible to speed food, clothing, rescue crews, electricity, medicine, or whatever else was needed to get Gotham on its feet again.
He often said that Wayne was the lesser half of his whole, but it was at times like these that Batman was thankful for the plurality. At night, he could serve the city in ways he couldn't by the light of day, but what Gotham really needed right now required money, too. Thankfully, Bruce Wayne had plenty.
There was no way he could have missed the news that she was back. Even if the reporter in front of Wayne Enterprises hadn't asked him what his reaction was to her appearing right here in Gotham to help out after being away for so long (to which he'd responded that if he weren't already taken, he'd ask for her number), they were talking about her everywhere he went. On the few televisions he happened across, he even managed to catch a glimpse and confirm that yes - Wonder Woman had returned.
It wasn't less unusual for Bruce Wayne to smile than it would have been for his counterpart - so no one questioned when he did.
He watched a little of the day's footage as he prepared to go out for the evening; she looked well. Diana hadn't given him very much information before she left, and he hadn't pushed for more, knowing it wasn't his business, but with as long as she'd been gone, it must have been more serious than she'd let on.
It was his first goal to find her, and as he arrived in Gotham, Batman used his satellite link, wondering if it would even be necessary. Heading toward where the work had been the heaviest, he confirmed his suspicion; she was waiting for him. He resisted the urge to smile.
