Dinah smiled into her wine at his offer of globe-trotting. The idea was a tempting one to say the least; if for no other reason than going to all those fabulous places to do all the site-seeing, touristy things she never really had the chance to do when she was there working a case or training...not to mention the other tempting reasons why that sounded like a good idea.
"Someday." She repeated gently, neither affirming nor denying. As much fun as it sounded; that seemed like it would be awfully far in the future... past even a third date-- and at the moment, Dinah wasn't sure how she felt about looking that far into the future; at least where her love life was concerned. She wasn't looking for the whirlwind romance, or someone to settle down and nest with-- at least not right now. And she had every intention of telling Carter that...
...but pre-dinner on the first date seemed a rather awkward time to talk about future intentions.
"Well see now I know you can't be Indiana Jones..." She teased, grinning brightly at his joke and following up on it easily, "Indy would never leave his hat behind. But I think I know someone who can loan you a whip if that's what you're into."
She shot him a wink to match his smug grin and reached across the table to take the menu from him, looking briefly over the tasting menus he suggested. Both sounded excellent (the lobster and octopus actually looked really yummy), but it was the dessert that won out in the end. While chocolate-popcorn sounded incredibly delicious and deadly; three words from the other dessert had her sold: dark chocolate & beer.
"How about the second one? I have a weakness for desserts that include alcohol."
