"Perhaps you should sometime", Carter said before taking a sip of his wine. He could see the look in her eyes when he had spoke of his travels, and had further thoughts on what must have gone through her hand but left them to himself for now. Tonight it was enough just to get her to agree to dinner.
Not that he was paying attention to the menu yet.
"North Africa and Egypt in particular do hold a special place in my heart." It was after all, his birth place. And in thinking that, he began to wonder if he was somehow deceiving her with all of these things that he was choosing not to mention. Was it criminal of him to want to have a good time with a beautiful woman without digging every skeleton out of his closet?
"It's hard to pin point one favorite place, though if I had to choose it would be somewhere with deep history. India, for instance. One of my favorite trips there involved seeing the Taj Mahal." He knew it did not likely seem like a place he would visit given what she had seen of him in action, but what she had seen was just the surface of him.
"But where would you go? If you had the time to spend and the means, where would like to visit?"
