Carter could not help but grin. Maybe having a good old fashioned throw down with Ted was what he needed. An old friend, a boxing ring, and some hard knocks. Maybe if he played it right he could even arrange for Dinah to be there to make it more interesting. It was a thought he kept in the back of his mind for another time depending on how everything else went.
"He and I will have our time", Carter said, and he left it at that for now. Actions tended to bode better with Ted.
Again he did not want to skip around her answer, but at the same time the truth of it was hard to swallow. How was he supposed to reasonable explain that he had originally been born as an Egyptian Prince, and had been resurrected throughout history all over the world? He didn't want to lie, and if she asked more directly he would share all of the details, but for now he just opted to answer as easily as he could for the time being.
"A lot of it is work, but I usually take time to settle into the local culture when I am abroad." By settle in, what he really meant was reminisce, but again that was something better left unsaid for the moment. "Not that I at all consider anything I do as 'work', per se. At least when I am out in the field."
