Re: Carter & Dinah continued
Her smile turned soft and delicate and sincere when he started to lean in towards her. She wasn't actually sure that she was going to let him go for a kiss- then again she wasn't sure that she wouldn't let him either. At this point, Dinah was pretty much playing things by ear; if he went for it well.... she'd see how she felt about it in the moment. There was no use in planning for anything further than that. Besides, that was part of the practice, right? To enjoy being in the moment and not wallowing over a all-for-naught past and a broken future. Nothing wrong with that.
She met and held his eyes as he leaned in towards her and -- then the kid ran up.
Although Carter kept his eyes on her, Dinah's flicked to the boy, watching his frantic expression and she tried not to laugh outright when she turned her face back to Carter and gave him a sympathetic look.
"Do you want some help?" She teased lightly, though her play was interrupted by the kid suggesting that a 'quickie' might be in order. The look she gave him was probably on par with the beating he would otherwise be taking from the Parking Lot Gang.
Once she'd glared at the kid long enough to make her point (which was that she was perfectly capable and willing to end him), she turned her attention back to Carter.
"Yeah, it was fun. Thanks for the dance, and the drink. I'll look into that thing you mentioned. I'm sure we'll see each other again soon." She said with a mysterious smile. She didn't even bother trying to exchange contact information. She could find him; and would, for one reason or the other.
