Re: Carter & Dinah continued
She'd only had a drink and a half over the entire time she'd been at the club. Dinah felt, at most, a little warm, but not in the least impaired. Her smiles were genuine. She was having fun. Some part of her had forgotten how much fun it was to flirt recklessly and carelessly.
She gave an easy shrug, cocking her head towards her shoulder as if to say there was nothing she could do about it and she certainly couldn't be blamed.
Ted, for his part, usually stayed out of Dinah's love life; he let her make her own decisions about her life which had been a source of contention with her parents on several occasions. When Dinah's mutation had manifested, it was Ted that said she could train and learn to control it and said he would help her do just that-- unlike her own mother who had wanted to be rid of it and be done. Having someone like Ted around to help the stubborn Dinah Jr. stand up to the equally head-strong Dinah Sr. had made a great difference in her life. Though, there was no telling what kind of advice Ted might have given that he already knew the man in question... it wasn't as though he hadn't warned a potential suitor or two off before. It just wasn't something he made a habit of arguing with Dinah about.
Those Lance women could be awfully strong-willed when they had the mind to be, and Ted knew better than most that it was usually best to stay out of their way.
Besides; Dinah probably wouldn't have listened. She was enjoying herself too much.
"One of the best." Dinah said with a smile.
She paused to finish her drink, finally looking up and back towards the dance floor. "I don't see your friend anymore..." She cautioned.
