Re: Carter & Dinah continued
"Oh please." She said with an amused laugh and a look that read as though he'd just asked her how he was supposed to tie his shoes, though she didn't pull her hand away. "I'm sure you can think of something that doesn't involve me sitting on the lap of a strange man who may or may not be a psycho killer." She beamed a bright smile at him and gave a mock innocent flutter of her eyelashes as she said it.
Really, it wasn't that she minded him, or the flirtation. She actually kinda liked him, and it, and there may have been a point earlier in the evening where she was considering doing something completely and utterly reckless that would have made sitting on his lap look like Sunday School... but that was before she found out that he knew about her costumed identity, had one of his own, and said she looked like her mother with his hands on her curves. It wasn't that she was even entirely opposed to the idea; it just wasn't going to happen tonight.
Besides, if you're planning to see someone again, it's best to save the sex for later instead of jumping in bed and then having to see them again.
"I wouldn't call it evasion so much as common sense. A girl has to be careful when she wears dresses like this." She teased good-naturedly, and didn't pull away from his hands on her knees.
