"Mummified dead people and a lot of sand", he replied. "At least that's what I tell my students." Explaining that he had once been an Egyptian Prince was not something he usually mentioned when first meeting someone, and he regrettably knew that from experience as well. Without his soul mate he had grown lonely, uncharacteristically desperate for companionship, and made a grave error. Little wonder that his first conversation with that woman had been his last.
"By that I mean Egyptian, mostly. If I had a concentration it would be there, but I've been all over the world. Most recently some work in and around the Dead Sea. Once I have a little more funding, I will be headed to Troy next."
It was hard for him also to articulate that by "I've been all over the world" that he really meant, "I have lived and been a part of cultures around the world since the dawn of history." That was a tough pill to swallow, too.
