Wanda knew full well that his word wasn't to be trusted and was going to tell him such, but was silenced by Loki's approach. Her body tensed in response, preparing for an assault against her. What came wasn't so much an assault, but it was a surprise. Her eyes widened, only to close moments later as she allowed the kiss to linger. She resisted the urge to place her hands upon his arms; she wasn't going to be taken in by this kiss, even if her heart was desperately trying to make her. It was looking for comfort, in pain from the swift decision her mind made about her daughter's future, and was under the belief it could get that comfort from Loki despite his recent jabs. And it was all because he occasionally displayed the affection he gave her back when she fell in love with him.
Eira began to fuss, breaking Wanda out of her brief stupor. She pulled back from Loki's kiss and immediately brought her attention to the babe in his arms. She spoke gently to the child, resting her hand upon her head. "Shh, my little one. Go back to sleep. All is well."
