"Please, call me Lois." As much as she studied formal customs, Lois wasn't much for formalities unless others truly insisted upon them. She might be a rebellious General's daughter, but she was still a General's daughter. And making an effort to follow the ways of those she was interviewing often made her job easier.
"Water would be nice, thank you," she said, both the T'Challa, and the waiter. His praise surprised her; not because she didn't agree, but because she hadn't expected him to have been aware of her for so long. He wasn't the first person to have chosen her personally for an interview, but many of them made their judgement based on one article, the advice of a staff member, or by reputation alone.
"I'm more than flattered," she said honestly. "But I agree; investigative journalism is a dying art form, and the Daily Planet's current owner bought the paper so that we could continue to write the way we do. Journalists don't tell the truth anymore, and it does a great disservice to the world, blinding them to the best and worst of what's out there. People hardly even care about the news these days because most of what they're reading and seeing is a big song and dance routine put on by corporations to protect their own interests."
Lois took a breath, then stopped and smirked. "I'm not really known for holding my tongue," she said. "So it's a value I can appreciate."
Glancing down at her notes, she got out her digital recorder as she looked over her questions. She didn't really have to. "I'm going to start this now," she told him as a formality before pushing the button. "I've been doing some research on yourself, your family's history, as well as the history of Wakanda itself," she told him as the recorder started. "I found it all very fascinating, and I wanted to hear more about the two different positions of leadership you hold here on Wakanda.
"You're King of Wakanda, which is a hereditary title, passed down to you from your father, but you're also the leader of one of the clans over which you rule as king - the Panther Tribe. This is also a hereditary title, but you can be challenged for it. How does that work? And what's the difference between each of these roles?"
