Pete had never truly understood In Soviet Russia jokes; but he knew them well enough to know they existed and that they were, for the most part, funny (or at least worthy of a groan). He just didn't quite get why changing the order of English words was a Russian joke; maybe it was a jab at how Russians spoke English, but then why the Soviet Union reference? Ach! ...At least it was better than the students asking him to say 'nuclear wessels' and 'Moose and Squirrel'-- then again, most of the students these days were too young to remember those references.
"Da." Pete said with a nod, his smile spreading as he glanced towards the stairs, up where his room was waiting for him. It was a nice feeling, to have a room waiting for you, just as you left it, "This is very good."
He was not surprised when Bobby said that Logan was being Logan, or that Ororo wasn't at the mansion (a little disappointed maybe but not surprised); Jubilee moving to Gotham however came with a thoroughly surprised look, both eyebrows shooting up. "Shto? Gotham?" The 'th' sound was particularly difficult for the native Russian speaker and ended up sounding somewhere between a 'z' and an 's'. Despite the fact that Piotr had a stellar command of the English language (better perhaps than some native speakers), there was only so much he could do to wrap his tongue around the proper American English sounds. And while his accent was thick, it wasn't --for the most part-- unintelligible.
Getting over his shock at the news, Pete's smile returned, albeit a little wryly. "It is good then that Ororo is also in New Jersey. Bludhaven is not far from Gotham, correct? I am certain she will be looking in on Jubilee."
