Re: Lex Luthor
Tony really didn't like the idea of offering this to Lex Luthor, the armor-patent stealing...smug baldie. "Sorry, I'm driving, and flying cars take a little bit more concentration," he said flippantly as he took his seat, deftly avoiding the issue of not wanting to accept anything from Luthor for fear of obligation. And poison.
"Academic, of course," he agreed easily. "But with the ability to put all the high-minded theories to real good. That's what we're all after, with what we do, isn't it? Do some good in the world as only we can."
Then Reed was explaining, and when he faltered a little, shooting that glance, Tony was picking up where he'd trailed off. "We're talking about pooling together the best minds and those with the most powerful resources, and actually fix the things people keep talking about fixing, before we end up having a dead planet and a few survivors wandering around going 'Well, that sucked.'"
