Re: Lex Luthor
There was a plethora of things in this world that could make one feel dirty-- offering Lex Luthor the chance to be a part of this kind of endeavor certainly ranked high on the list-- at least for Reed. Strangely enough, the quote that flashed through his mind had nothing to do with Rome: Lie still and think of the Empire.
Politely, Reed declined both the drink and cigar-- not because he didn't enjoy them on occasion but this was hardly the company he would choose for it (Tony, of course, excluded).
"There's a pattern, Mr. Luthor, a cycle if you will, of cataclysmic events that have completely altered the course of history, and pre-history. The extinction of the dinosaurs, and the invention of the atomic bomb to name a very shining examples. It has come to our attention that soon, our world will be threatened again- from either internal or external sources- and Tony and I feel that the best way to prepare for this eventuality is to take preventative measures; to begin curing the world."
That wasn't exactly what he wanted to say, so Reed scowled a little at himself and turned to Tony, looking for help with the whole... word thing.
