Bruce mostly stayed out of politics. Like guns, he didn't like them, but he knew the inner workings, and how they were used, and when it came to Lex Luthor, the political system would definitely be used as a weapon.
He didn't realized the teacup in his hand had shattered until he noticed he was covered in hot tea, and shards of fine china were spilling down through his fingers and across his lap.
The worst part was that Luthor was going to win. It didn't take a great deal of mental acuity, just keen foresight and an acceptance of the facts. Luthor was charismatic, had a lot of money, strong backers, and unscrupulous lackeys to ensure he not only ran a good campaign, but won, by whatever means necessary.
They would have to dig deep to find something to stop him, and if they couldn't, it would be a lot harder to impeach him. He would need help.
