"I know, I know. And I'm not mad... Okay, maybe a little. But you said you'd be gone for five months, Kyle. Not eight. You only had your apartment paid through for five months. Do you know that? Do you remember? I couldn't afford to keep both apartments..." She was a little defensive about that one, since she paid for both apartments for months six and seven, until she finally just said 'screw it' and moved into Kyle's, which was a little bit nicer than hers, if not bigger. Sue her.
"Rent in New York, is not cheap, Kyle... But its not even that. You couldn't even get a message to me to say you were going to stay...? What if something happened to you and I had no way of knowing? Or I needed to get a message to you some how? Look, I'm not your mother. But a little courtesy, please. I've got my own life too, Kyle."
Jennie sighed and shook her head, finally taking pity on him after speaking her peace. "I missed you too." Then she rolled her eyes at what he said next. Could they not once have a serious moment without Kyle making some crack?
"I see what's important to you," she teased back. "I'll have you know I've had offers from three serious hero-types looking for my services," which was a lie, but Jen wanted to make sure Kyle was aware of their precarious work agreement. "Good looking girl side kick, with Green Lantern-ish powers? Not bogged down by the Corps agenda? I don't think you realize just what a catch I am."
