Then he pulled out breakfast, and she had to stare a little. Still being here when she woke up, okay, she probably should have expected that. Coffee, that was a nice gesture. Brought her breakfast? Oh, that was weird. She liked it, but it made things more complicated than she liked: the hell was he angling for?
Well, no one said she had to figure it out right now. Or refuse breakfast. "Thanks," she said as she took the offering and sat on the bed to fork up some of the eggs. "Should I plan on you being here when I get back?" she had to ask, curious.
