Re: In the Lobby
Hopefully, Mikaal thought, he would survive this job without adding walking pincushion to his resume. Clearly Oberon wasn't happy about having to fit yet another costume on short notice. He had finally warned the dwarf about accidentally stabbing him with any more pins, lest he accidentally lose control of his sonic crystal and blow Oberon through a wall. Oddly enough, instead of getting mad, it seemed like Oberon respected Mik more now. He would never understand humans. At least he thought Oberon was human. Human-adjacent. Whatever.
It was time for his break, however, and he was parched, so he stepped outside the theater to buy another 24-pack of water for everyone. He was coming back inside when he found Todd hovering around the entrance. Mikaal was wearing what amounted to his working uniform, jeans, boots and no shirt. His sonic crystal tended to damage them through heat and vibration, and Mik wasn't exactly rolling in money right now. He usually wore a t-shirt to and from the theater, but took it off while he was on duty. Folks around the theater were fairly used to shirtless blue man walking around.
Mikaal approached Todd with a friendly smile, since he was headed toward the door anyway.
"Hi," he said in his gentle voice. "There's a rehearsal in progress in there. Are you with the show?"
