Reed was, of course, working. For a few moments, he was no where to be seen, but when she called out her greeting, he popped up, neck and upper torso stretched out so he could peer over the cabinet that had been obscuring him from sight.
Who was that? His new assistant? Was it Monday already? Where did the time go?
"Miss Guthrie?" He asked to make sure that this wasn't just some stranger wandering in who he was about to put to work with heavy machinery and toxic chemicals (it had happened before). Reed extracted himself from whatever it was he'd been doing alongside the cabinet and resumed his normal shape as he crossed the lab, wiped his hands on a rag stored in his lab coat and held it out to shake her hand. "Dr. Reed Richards." He said by way of introduction, the flying toaster of a robot zipping past him to settle in his charging station, "I see you've already met HERBIE."
He moved away again, this time to a bank of lockers near the door, one of which he opened to reveal a whole row of lab coats. He glanced over at her then shuffled through the locker before producing a recently laundered lab coat which he handed over to her. "I think you should find that this fits-- if not, we can easily have it altered." Thankfully, Sue was in charge of ordering whatever they needed for the lab (including lab coats), and though there were the rare supplies that Reed went above Sue's head for to order himself, women's lab coats were not one of them.
"We have several sets of goggles which will of course be available any time. I keep them here." He said, pulling open a small drawer from the locker full of sanitized, clear plastic glasses. Looking around the lab, Reed pointed to a small sink and an enclosed tube with a shower head inside. "Emergency eye wash station and emergency decontamination chamber." He looked around, then back at Paige. That was all the necessary information, wasn't it?
"You are over 18, correct?" Because if not, he was going to have to get her parents/legal guardians permission to work here for safety reasons and that was going to be a nightmare, he was already sure (he still wasn't entirely sure it was legal for Maxine to work here)...
