"No armor," Pepper teased, taking off her backpack and leaving it on the rock. "No flying - nothing to catch or protect you now, Iron Man. Besides, the bruises only make the experience more interesting." She grinned, her eyebrow twitching slightly in acknowledgement of the double entendre.
Her hand tightened in his and she joined in the count at, "Two, and -"
It had been years since she'd made this jump, this free fall into space that went on and on and on forever until it tore a scream from her throat and sent her heart rushing upward. Slamming into the water took her breath away, and Pepper remembered not to inhale, waiting until the feeling returned to her tingling extremities and she oriented herself before kicking to the surface not far from Tony. The bikini was tight enough that it stayed on, but she tread water as she made a few adjustments before swimming to the rocks and climbing back up to the top.
Sitting on the rocks, her legs dangling over the side, Pepper dragged her backpack closer and took out two bottles of water and a vacuum sealed container of trail mix. There were sandwiches and Starbursts in two others, but she left those for him to find if he wanted.
"So," she said, opening her water. "How do you feel? What do you think, wait a bit, then go again?"
