Teddy shrugged a little, smiling shyly. "You can... really tell it's something you want and take joy in. Makes the best kind of mom."
"Yeah, the Sabbath. It really puts a damper on a lot of weekend activities. Before it wasn't so bad, because we weren't in school. Now, I'm going crazy. Though his parents have thankfully found a good tolerance of me coming over to bother him. His two little brothers are a riot." He was digging into his backpack as he spoke, finally pulling free a gift. He had wrapped it himself, and it wasn't the neatest of jobs. Inside was a new musical glo worm, something he knew worked great with two other infants he had babysat before. He got up to put it with the other gifts.
"I'm doing all right, beside going through Billy-withdrawals, but school is decent." He sighed. "I managed to not get a single class with him. All we have is lunch. One more year, though. Then... Guess I should figure out college."
He looked shy once more, voice quieter as he held his palms up. "Understand if I can't, but... can I?" It may have surprised quite a few that a teenage boy wanted to hold a baby, especially a newborn. Most looked at them as though they were eggs that would leap from their arms and break. Teddy had too much experience with kids to believe that, though.
