Teddy couldn't help the smile that broke out on his face when he saw her. She looked much better than he had worried. The baby seemed healthy, at least having a healthy appetite.
"Hey there." He kept his tone quiet, so as to not disturb the newborn. The teen looked about, sliding off his backpack and settling into a chair. "No, I don't mind. It's good she's eating and that's the healthiest for her." He was glad to hear her name pronounced, though. He had been curious.
He stopped, looking at her, spread his hands. "You look..." Amazing? Radiant? Gee, that sounded so glib. He stammered awkwardly, waving his hand in her direction. "You totally have that motherly glow going on. I can't explain it."
"Billy can't be here until after sundown. It's his Sabbath. If he can't manage tonight, he said he'll definitely be here tomorrow. Tommy, uh..." He looked at his phone. "He's evasive as usual, but!" He held up an index as he tucked it away. "I'm sure he'll swing by. He hasn't said no, and usually if he doesn't say no, he'll at least buzz through." Maybe...
