"Yes," she answered, leaving out the fact that she could smell it too. There were places where the scent was more pungent than others, mostly his shoulders, but the it was all over. She felt like he should've been covered in cat hair. "Your cat is very affectionate," she deduced. "You must treat her very well."
It was strange to look into the eyes of a man and know he was a boy. She wondered if he felt the same way about looking at her. All the while, Shep was tugging at the leash, seemingly oblivious to the fact that Laura had shortened it to keep him from jumping all over Damian's shoes and muddying the leg of his obviously expensive pants. "Are those clothes your fathers?" She asked curiously. If he didn't want to tell her, he didn't have to, but it was nice to confirm that his dad wasn't homicidal.
She didn't ask how his mother felt about it. She didn't ask if he felt he was putting his father in danger. She never had to worry about putting Logan in danger. There were many dangerous people in the world, but only a few were more dangerous than the two of them.
