Just when he had been about to make a decision, one way or the other, she called his name. Which, admittedly, caught him even more off guard. Even though he saw both Laura and Todd on what could be considered an almost frequent matter, he'd done his best not to give out any extraneous details. (A bit pointless as far as Todd was concerned.) Damian looked surprised, then unamused, then had dismissed the matter entirely. It wasn't as if he and Todd had an official accord. Though, Damian realized, it was a matter he'd have to resolve eventually.
He stopped, nodding in her direction then look down at the dog as they were officially introduced. He sighed as the dog attempted to bury itself into his pants leg. 'I would have thought you would have trained him better,' is what Damian thought, but what he ended up saying was, "He probably smells the cat."
He did, however, take a deliberate step backwards, out of Shep's reach. Resignedly, he realized, that when he returned to the manor, Ophelia was bound to do the same.
