Kate had been resting in the HQ attempting to compile some sort of pattern in the sudden disappearances. She tried to make a connection between who was put into what to the point of her brain exploding. Why was she doing this? Because there was nothing else to do. There were no attacks on Earth, and the adults...or former adults, hadn't a clue what was doing this or how to stop it from happening.
Throughout all this time, it had not once occurred to her, that she'd be sucked into one of these shows. Now she held a hand up to cover the sun that was glaring in her eyes. The girl eying her caught her attention. Then she looked at the others...she was with. Three boys. Archers too.
Looking down, she took in her leather attire, and the fact that her arms were painted. Her hair was free as usual, but there was something around her forehead. She turned and saw a warped reflection of herself in the saloon window. "You're f--" she cut herself off remembering the child. "You're kidding me," she said smoothing a hand through her hair. The quiver on her back was also made of leather, and she pulled out an arrow. The tips were sharpened...what looked like bone.
"How many are there?" she asked the girl, pulling the string on her bow back. Something on her hip moved and she looked down to see the large knife hanging there. "Really?" She wiggled her toes and observed her moccasins. A moment later, she adjusted her round wire sunglasses.
