Who: J.Kale (and Open)
Where: Gotham City, diner Jennifer works at
When: September 6th, 2012
What: Jennifer's at work. She's so happy to work in the customer service industry
Rating: TBA (but right now? G)
Jennifer propped her feet up on the chair across from her, and gave a little sigh. Her feet were killing her, this whole waitress gig was for the birds she had decided. Of course as a second year (still undeclared) university student, she didn't exactly have employers beating down her door to hire her. And while her job back home had paid the bills (and allowed her to save to come to school) late nights, plus her early morning classes didn't really go together. And hell, her feet had killed her back then too - some those shoes she had worn had been of the very high heeled sort. So putting in time as a waitress it was!
Sitting back in the chair, Jennifer glanced around the empty break room, and then looked over to her bag. Her school books were in that bag, and the bag was clear on the other side of the room. And her feet hurt. And she didn't want to get up.
It was a simple spell really, just using her power to reach out and grab the bag and haul it towards her. And then a simple levitation spell brought the book up in front of her face, so Jennifer dind't have to hold it. Hey she was tired - she was going through a whole back to balancing work and school adjustment period.
The assigned reading for school was a little dry, but she was determined to make her way through it. She was glad however that she wasn't that focused on it, so she heard the break room door open, and was able to release the spell that was holding her book up, so the book fell into her lap. She turned to look over her shoulder, and gave a smile to her co-worker standing there. "I'm on break. I've got ..." she glanced at the clock. "Five minutes left."
The slightly confused look on her coworkers face made Jennifer think they had perhaps caught a glimpse of the floating book. Whatever. This was Gotham. That would hardly be the weirdest thing they had ever seen she was sure.
"Boss wants you back out now. Dinner rush."
Jennifer gave an exaggerated sigh, and put her feet back on the floor, and frowned as she stood up. She thought about what might happen if she tried to turn her boss into a toad. Probably some sort of karmic magic backlash. Or else it would be a giant toad, and go on some sort of mystical monster rampage. Really. It would be for the best to just go back out there, with a fake smile and serve some people some food. Because really ... she wasn't sure she knew a spell to turn someone into a toad.
Walking back out to the main area, Jennifer made sure her name tag (today it said her name was 'Lucy') was on, and then headed over to one of her tables, a smile that was a little more genuine then the name on her name tag on her face.
