Re: Ororo's Place -- Bobby and Jubilee Arrive
Ororo caught Jubilee rather effortlessly, the result of many hours of Danger Room training. "I missed you too child," she laughed, marveling at the nigh-explosive personality that was so colorful and so very much like the young girl's mutant power. She separated herself long enough to take a drink of her tea, listening to the comments from both of her friends, nodding thoughtfully through small sips.
"The plight of the responsible educator, having to deal with those that would rather have fun and play pranks than sit in a classroom listening to some..." she searched for the word she wanted while sipping again. "... stuffy teacher trying to explain Algebra." She knew what Bobby was going through, she'd been there. Well, mostly. She'd never been in a car with Jubilee for eight-ish hours. Her smile never left though, and her eyes twinkled in well-meaning jest.
Admittedly, she was taken aback by Jubilee's questioning, brow arching ever so slightly toward the young girl as she sputtered on a sip. After a moment, she took a breath and tackled the most important of the questions, hopefully granting Bobby a respite from what had to be an exceptionally persistent line of questioning on the car ride.
"People move on as life changes, Jubes. This is a simple fact of nature. Believe me, one day, even you will move on in some fashion, more than likely taking on the world in some dramatic fashion. But that does not mean you are forgotten by them. I could not imagine someone more unforgettable, and I mean that in the best possible way." Ororo smiled and patted Jubilee's cheek as she adjusted herself around the teen draping herself. "As to the dating, that was not the reason for this journey for me. I did not come here to connect with anyone except myself. Bludhaven is not my home, nor will it ever be. My home is Xavier's, and while it is always in my heart, one day I will, goddess willing, return to its walls, having grown for this experience."
"But," she continued, a wry smile coloring her lips, "Between you and me, there have been a few that have been pleasing to the eye, but I'm sure Bobby does not want to hear about this."
