An SUV pulled into the parking lot, adorned with Xavier Institute signs on both doors. Bobby Drake wasn't fond of the idea of driving a school SUV on a weekend, but it was the only vehicle big enough that he could use on short notice. He'd ended up bringing a small army.
Earlier in the month, Charles Xavier had attended a charity auction in Gotham City that Bobby hadn't paid much attention to, other than having heard that seemingly every rich person and/or on the planet had attended. Including Betty White, who had somehow ended up as the highest-bid date at the auction.
It wasn't until earlier this week that Bobby had found out through a round of texting that his cousin Dinah had been at the auction, and that she knew the people who'd bid on Betty. Bobby had been utterly astounded by this, and even more so when she invited him to come to Betty White's appearance at a rec center.
Planning had snowballed from there, and the next thing he knew, he was playing chaperone to a group of students who wanted to come as well. Bobby was a bigger fan of Golden Girls than should probably be healthy, but for this trip he'd have to have his responsible face on to make sure the kids were in line.
He and the kids bailed out of the SUV and stretched their legs, and Bobby lined them up for a roll call and head count. He ended that with, "please, whatever you do, don't wreck the place, okay? Even accidentally?"
(OOC: Here's an excuse for some other X-People to tag along as well. Rogue, Remy, you could be fellow chaperones?)
