Mrs. Altman had a bright blush on her face. Teddy had a big grin. He jogged away from the high-heeled woman toward Eli, dropping some grocery bags by the grill. "Brought extra hamburgers and buns! You can cook mine on the rare side again, right? Also brought a basketball."
He turned quickly to the blond woman who was now smiling pleasantly. "Eli, this is my mom. Mom, this is Eli. He's the really athletic one. Hoping he'll teach me some tumbles soon."
"Very nice to finally meet you," she said genuinely. "I hope to meet everyone soon enough."
She looked over to Teddy, who was trying to do a handstand in the grass, and teetered over quickly. She managed to hold back a laugh. "And I warn you. He's in a mood. He's drank two iced lattes. Well, I'll be off. Hopefully I'll get to meet everyone when I get back. Bye Teddy."
"Bye!" He was in the middle of another handstand attempt and tried to wave, which worked out poorly for him. He flopped onto his back, his red cap having fallen off so his bangs were in absolute disarray. "Man, my balance sucks..."
