Who: General Zod posing as 'Drew Seaworth' & Lois Lane-Kent Where: A small diner near the Daily Planet, in Metropolis When: August 29th, 2012 What: Zod meets with Lois to find out about Superman as a precursor to going after him. Rating: PG
In his short time upon Earth, Zod had come to the conclusion that humanity was a race meant to be ruled. For each and every day, he encountered more human depravity. With each instance serving as evidence that mankind was incapable of governing itself. The only thing he could not understand about any of it was how Kal-El, or any of the other super powered individuals he saw allowed it to happen. Instead of reigning from on high as a living God unto these primitive creatures, Kal-El flew around in a ridiculous costume, and for what? As far as Zod could tell, 'Superman' received almost as much scrutiny as he did praise for his so called 'heroics.' Zod loathed Jor-El for his part in the fall of Krypton, but even in his hatred he had expected more of the son.
It had not been his intention to necessarily destroy Kal-El, but perhaps it would be for his own good.
Zod closed his eyes, and with no small amount of focus, he managed to ignore the conversation of every other patron in the diner. And every other person for some miles around. He needed a moment before he met with this lowly reporter woman, and for his momentary solace he chose a memory of his Ursa. Before the fall of Krypton. She in command of her unit, himself in command of her, and...
The door opened and he glanced up. It was not the reporter yet, though he had been able to tell for certain until he looked as he had just been going by the sound of her footsteps at first. Lowering his eyes, he started to go over his notebooks and other clippings of 'Superman' as part of his established cover identity.
