Sitting with her, his arms went around her again, pulling her in against his side and letting her rest against him. One hand stroked through that soft red hair, the other resting on her waist. Pressing his lips to her temple again, his eyes closed as he inhaled the scent of her perfume. Yes, he'd missed that too.
"I can tell you that it concluded successfully, and that in order to conserve a bit of electricity, I didn't shave." He chuckled softly. "There was a bit of a delay after I got back, because I did take a little time to shave. I didn't think you'd want to see me quite so fuzzy."
"And," his voice went a bit quieter, "I can tell you that I missed you greatly while I was away." Phil gently tilted her chin upwards so that he could look into her eyes. "Every day I thought about you. I'm just so sorry that I couldn't call more than the one time, but ... that's just the way things are." He pressed a kiss to the side of her mouth, gently. "But I'm back now. And glad to be with you again."
