The kid just made a few incoherent squeaks at being shook, his shirt hanging awkwardly from his thin belly, a few coins falling out of his pockets. Teddy was about to go fishing in the kids pockets himself to find his stolen wallet, hoping he hadn't pitched it somewhere, when he heard the demand to drop the kid.
He looked up under the brim of his red cap's bill, blinking blue eyes at her. Wow... she was a cape? Which one? He looked at the lasso, pointing. "Is that...?" Wait. The reality of things caught up to him very quickly, waving his one free hand, the other holding the other kid out still with an unnatural ease. "No, wait! This isn't...!"
"HELP! He's trying to kill me!" the upside down kid squeaked. People were starting to stop to look at the commotion. Teddy looked crossly at the thief, lifting him higher and turning him a bit when one of his legs flailed dangerously close to his face.
"I am NOT trying to kill you. YOU KICKED ME!" Yes, he was still sore and angry about that.
