Re: Batman/Maria
Batman nodded; one terse movement of his head to indicate that he acknowledged her assessment and agreed with it. "Believe it or not," he said, his voice clearly indicating that he was aware of the irony. "You're a guest. Kal wants this interview just as much as you do, and you don't bring the mountain to Mohammad, drugged, tied up, and in the trunk." He shot her a look. "Mohammad wouldn't approve."
He actually hadn't considered drugging her, and not just because Clark would have been irked. It just wasn't necessary, and Batman didn't want to sway her judgment when it came time for Hill to perform the interview. There were things she needed to hear, and things about Clark she needed to see and understand. Batman didn't want to impare her senses in any way for that.
"So noted," he said, nodding. "I'd give you my word that you're safe with me, if I thought you'd take it. The sooner you conduct your interview, the sooner I can get back to my investigation, and hopefully, the sooner Kal can put this behind him and..." And start being himself again. "...Stop wearing my bathrobe."
