Who: Nick Fury and The Hulk NPCs: Helicopter Pilot When: Tuesday, August 7, 2012 - Late Afternoon Where: Fourmile Creek State Park, NY What: The Hulk has been AWOL for some time but like always, SHIELD has had their eye on him. The best part about being the boss? Letting your Deputy Director deal with the political side of things so you can go for a choper ride. Rating: Ish? Notes: Gail, let me know if this needs to be changed. Perhaps somewhere a little more remote?
Fear. Panic. Those things usually followed The Hulk where ever he made an appearance. Given the sheer scale of damage the creature had been related too, it was an appropriate reaction. In fact it was the best reaction. It prevented anyone from getting hurt.
SHIELD's eye in the sky showed them that The Hulk had wandered down from his hidey hole in the mountains and journeyed into a populated area. A heavily populated area. Niagra Falls to be exact. The sudden emergence of the emerald creature had caused a panic and sent tourists scattering. Fortunately, SHIELD had been tracking his whereabouts at the time and had several estimations about where he would emerge.
It was time to end this and bring the asset back in.
Which is exactly what Fury was going to do. And it was how he found himself in the helicopter skimming over tree tops in pursuit of The Hulk. After the initial panic and the typical police response, Fury's chopper arrived. He called off local law enforcement and herded the good doctor to the north west where a series of parks would give them the space needed. "Sir we've almost got a lock."
"Negative. If you fire that gun you'll only piss him off even more." Fury replied coolly, leg dangling from the open hatch of the chopper. "Then I'll be forced to let him eat you." A smirk was the only sign that Fury was kidding.
"Sir, he's slowing." The pilot reported, bringing the chopper into a hover near the water's edge.
"Then this is where you and I part ways. Pull back. I'll radio you for pick up." Nick kicked the coiled rope from the edge of the chopper and slid out into the air. He descended on the zip line and his combat boots touched gently on the ground. The rope disconnected and fell into the river behind him. With that done, Fury made for the tree line as the rhythm of the helicopter's blades faded into afternoon air.
