To Eli this had absolutely zero bearing upon whether or not she would have been allowed on the team. She was highly skilled, clearly dedicated, and had more than proven her worth. But Teddy had of course known that just as well, and it was plain by his words that he had meant no offense.
During the exchange between Mia and Teddy, Eli could not help but think of the super soldier serum that flowed through his veins. It'd saved his life. It gave him phenomenal physical prowess. But could it benefit her in this? It was a wild thought, but one that he could not help but ponder. Even if he could not mention it. Because as much as he had personally benefited from the blood transfusion he had received from his grandfather, there remained a number of other side effects that he was not entirely sure of that could eventually take hold on him. Not the least of which concerned the diminished mental state of the man Eli liked to think of as the 'Black Captain America.'
He brought himself back to the situation at hand by thinking of what he would do, or would have to do in the field if she did become injured somehow. Really, if anyone were to be injured, it was not as though blood transfusions were an option anyway. So this would be more about how to handle her injuries carefully. He usually wore gloves with his costume anyway but now made a mental note to make sure he had them on hand every time, just in case.
"Not to move away from this, because it is an important discussion", Eli said as he formulated his thoughts, "But I think it would be beneficial that we each take a turn to discuss our own weaknesses once we figure this one out. That way we can help one another to overcome them."
He turned to Mia. "On my end, I don't see this changing anything other than that we will have to have to be more mindful and careful should you be injured. Is there anything specific you think can or should be done in that instance?"
